Move measure to another table in Power BI file

Move measure in PowerBI example

In this blog, I will show you how to move a measure from one table to another table within the same Power BI file without having to recreate the measure.

Follow these steps in order to move from one table to another-

Step-1: In the screenshot below, you can see that we have one measure (TotalSales) under the Product dataset, and we want to move this measure into the Sales table.

Step-2: Now, select ‘Measure,’ then go to the ‘Measure tools.’ From the ‘Home table’ dropdown, select the ‘Sales table.

Step-3: You can see in below screen shot, now measure has been moved to Sales table.

By following these steps, you can easily transfer the measure from one table to another without having to recreate it.

  1. Dataset is the wrong term here. What you’re really doing is moving measures between TABLES. I would update this to reflect that.
